Are you considering giving up smoking? Sick of the increasing cost of cigarettes? Just taken the plunge and are getting to grips with your vape starter kit? Unsure what vaping has to offer? If the answer to any of these is yes, please read on while I look to give you all the information about vaping, the basics, the devices, and different e-liquids available and advancement onto more complicated vape machines. With these facts, you can plan your vaping journey or make the important decision to show smoking the door.
The Vaping Basics
The majority of vape devices use a tank system filled with e-liquid. Inside the tank is a wick with a cotton core that soaks up the liquid; when heat is applied via power from an internal battery, the liquid is turned into a vapour. This basic principle remains the same for all vape devices, but with subtle differences with the more advanced machines. E-liquid, vapour juice or vape juice are all names for the liquid used in vape devices, and it is a combination of three or four components. These are –
- Propylene Glycol – an organic food and medicine ingredient.
- Vegetable Glycerin – is a clear liquid made from plant oils.
- Food-based flavourings – these are the food industry staples.
The fourth and possibly most important element is nicotine; more commonly, this is pre-mixed into a complete and ready to use e-liquid. There are possibilities further in a vaper’s career to buy e-liquid minus the nicotine, referred to as shortfill e-liquid; the vaper then adds their required number of nicotine portions called the shots.
The Different Vaping Devices
Vaping devices are fairly simple beasts; you fill them, charge them up and use them, there are some bells and whistles on more advanced machines, but the process essentially remains the same. The most basic vape device and a great starting point for the new vaper is the disposable vape pen or pod, already pre-filled with e-liquid and charged with enough power to vape, the liquid in the tank is used and then disposed of. They are easy to use and give the beginner a taste of what vaping has to offer; they’re also fairly cheap, so trying vaping isn’t expensive. From there, vapers can move onto refillable and rechargeable devices such as vape pens or one of the full starter kits most suppliers offer, which are a great idea.
Vaping Advancements
Having vaped for a while, got used to their starting vape device, and tried a number of the vast range of tasty e-liquid flavours, it may be time to move on to something more advanced. Vape devices with adjustable power packs and variable wattage are an option, as is a step up to the latest in vape device design, the vape pod. Vape pods swap the traditional tank design for a switchable pod; they are refillable and easily enable the vaper to switch between different e-liquid flavours. Once the coil is finished, the pod is swapped for a new one, rather than changing the coil as needed in a normal tank designed vape.
So, there are the vaping basics. I hope with this new information; you can plan your vaping journey. I was brought a basic starter kit over six years ago and haven’t looked back, give vaping a try today!
